Reenacting Shakespeare of Act 2
In class today, we reenacted William Shakespeare’s play The Twelfth Night of Act Two. It was interesting and funny to listen to my classmates trying to imitate the characters and use the language of Shakespeare. It was easier to understand what was going on because the dialogue was filled with body language to make the story alive. Those who were observing were somewhat like the audience of a modern day Shakespearean play because we were laughing and giggling. Two male classmates played the two main female characters, Olivia and Viola, which was interesting because in Shakespeare’s time, men played as female roles.

I think that is really cool that you guys were able to reenact Act 2 of Twelfth Night. I was unfortunately sick. I think that seeing the play acted out right in front of you would help everyone understand the play more because we can actually see and hear what is going on during the play.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I think reenacting the play in class was pretty interesting. Having two of our male classmates play the roles of two female characters was funny. But I have to say that by reenacting the play it actually does help us understand the play better because our classmates can use body language and show many various emotions. Just by saying the lines with a certain emotion can do a lot and help us understand what Shakespeare was trying to get through to us.
